They managed to find the leak!

rhialtoAfter only 6 months (or more, it's been so long I hardly remember), the people from the building corporation finally managed to find where the water is coming from that has been leaking into my cupboard in my little hallway (and spreading out from there, and spreading and spreading and spreading). At one point they thought that there must be a leak in my bathroom too, because my downstrairs neighbours have leakage too, and apparently even more than I. So they decided to renovate my bathroom, which I managed to avoid in the past because I didn't feel like being without a toilet for a week. So now I have been without a toilet for a week.
My upstairs neighbour has been a bit hard to contact, since he was always on the road (apparently he's an international truck driver). When they started to threaten to break his door down (far too late, in my opinion) he was suddenly available for an inspection. That was maybe 6 weeks ago. The inspection revealed nothing - and so they took no action. Which rather pissed me off when I heard about that. So much that I started writing nasty letters to the building corporation about stopping to pay rent.
Apparently they managed to get hold of my upstairs neighbour today, and had another look. And lo and behold, this time they looked better, and quickly found the water was leaking from a valve in the hot water pipe.
I really wonder why that should have taken half a year to find.
Of course now I'll have to deal with the insurance company to get my ruined carpet, wallpaper and paint refunded. I'm so looking forward to that...
