I'm flying to Cambridge friday next week (or more precise, to Stansted). I sure hope the air transport situation has reverted to a somewhat normal status, because I really can't imagine going on a plane without a book. Flying is boring, even if the flight is only an hour.
Anyway, I hope to arrive in Cambridge between 11:00 and 12:00 or so, but then I need to find something to do until possibly 16:00. Any suggestions?

what time do you arrive at stanstead? i live just down (ummm, maybe 45 min/an hour depending on connections, and about £16!) the train track. not sure what i'm doing that day (very much working on a day to day basis right now, still very tired), but it could be cool to hook up if you don't have any other plans and i feel fit when the day comes around *smile* that's the 18th august, right?

That would be cool indeed! It's the 18th, yes. The scheduled arrival time is 9:25 (I fly with Ryanair from NRN ("Düsseldorf/Weeze"/Niederrhein)). If the current "security" paranoia abates somewhat that might even be correct. I don't do mobile phones so I'd have to know before I leave home (around 6.30 I think - horribly early!) if you're up to it, or you can risk me showing up anyway or something :) How's the connection back to Cambridge? Direct or backtracking via Stanstead?

are you perchance around the following weekend?
as luck would have it I am going to France with [livejournal.com profile] alexa_robinson tommorrow thursday for a week or so and I was wondering if i could on the way back make a bit of detour up to see (and crash with) you and my counsin's in dusseldorf? I know it's abit short notice but I have been snowed everyday since BiCon and I will be snowed as soon as I get back for another couple of weeks after that, so It would be good to hang out with you for a day... (and move any furniture you need moving to the dump :) )
Hope you have a great time in cambridge - since I have not been reading LJ since before BiCon on the grounds of being snowed, I have no idea why your going to that hell hole (I'm from oxford - chief rivel of cambridge) - care to enlighten me?
Btw I will have a laptop with me, so I might actually get some catching up done on Lj whilst I'm in france. So I will hopefully be replying to my e-mail.
hugs
kate

Yes, I'm home the weekend of 26/27 august. I'm still free on fridays too. So it's no problem. I still live in the same place so you know how to find it (but my work office is moved to a newly build building).
Oh, and I heard the same sort of qualifications about Oxford :-) I'll tell you later why I go there :-)
