Not only am I going to BiCon in august, I'm also going to the Chaos Communication Club summer Camp. At least, I just booked a direct train ticket from Nijmegen to the nearest train station, Eberswalde Hbf.
As usual with international train journeys, the german train planner was much more useful in the planning than the dutch one. The promised "fixed cheap price" to Berlin was for instance impossible to actually book there. On the other hand, the german site knows apparently all european trains and allows booking any ticket, and even had a 50% discount rate which probably matches the "fixed cheap price" plus the necessary extra tickets to get to and from the limited available cheap fixed stations. And such extra tickets are difficult to obtain if you're in a direct train to the destination and the "fixed cheap" ticket ends somewhere almost but not quite at the end of the journey...

I thought about coming too but... its a 6 hour drive in each direction. Mind you it could be fun...

btw i had better explain - alexa_robinson is thinking about going to summer darkness with alexian and bondagewoodelf, now as it happens I remember being fascinated about this camp last time we chatted about it, wo whilst travelling for 13 hours by car isn't my idea of fun, it might be worth coming.
If that's IF I do come and you happen to know anyone else who drives and is willing to share a road trip...

Hmmm that is an interesting idea! I like it.
I do have an arrangement for part of my luggage so that I won't have to take it all on the train, but going by car all the way is much more convenient.
I was planning to arrive well in advance of the 'formal' activities, viz. on monday evening (the 6th) to have a bit of peace between traveling and hectic lectures etc ;-) and I thought tuesday evening would be a bit late for that.
