Isabelle has a small website for her therapy practice. It is just a handful of static pages. The only thing the provider adds is some simple template-based editing facility. However this costs her something like ₤ 30 a month. That sounds far too expensive for me (I'm thinking that one can have at least a full year of hosting for that kind of money). Can anybody point in some cheaper direction? Thanks!

Yes, I pay half that for my own virtual private server.

If she has control over the DNS for the domain, it'd be easy to find a free host (including me). It looks like there would be some rewriting needed, because it's not clear which CMS the current host is using.

It'd be easy to stick the content into a WordPress system, then it just becomes an issue of how much like the current one it has to look.

I use 1 & 1 for my site. They are charging £3.99 per month right now. They also have a good template choice for her website, if she wants to use that.

Good luck! And a big hug for Isabelle. How is she doing?

Thanks for the info! I'll have a look at them. I hope for some more suggestions so that we can compare (and maybe you can benefit from that too ;-)

Isabelle is doing well, but still rather afraid of the cancer coming back (which her type tends to do). So she's on some sort of preventative treatment with a Dr Etienne Callebout now, which involves a diet and taking supplements. It is less strict than what she did before, when it wasn't known that the PET scan showed no cancer anymore. (There hasn't been a second scan, for some unknown reason). Slowly she is trying to get a grip on planning the future, but sometimes despair temporarily gets the upper hand :-(

I wish you both the best. I understand how despair can be overwhelming sometimes. I really hope the future continues to be bright for both of you.
